Pregnancy is a time of great physical and emotional change for women and their families. Massage during this time can help support your wellbeing and help you feel connected to your baby and your changing body.
Massage in pregnancy can help ease physical tensions and discomforts such as muscular aches and poor circulation.Through focus and relaxation, it can also soothe emotional tensions and help you prepare mentally for birth.
Having been specifically trained in pregnancy massage, I understand the many anatomical changes you are going through. I am also qualified to deliver a safe and effective treatment through all three trimesters.
What to expect
Sessions are performed on a massage couch or a futon on the floor. The futon is especially supportive and comfortable in the later stages of pregnancy. I use extra pillows, drapes and supports, and sometimes an exercise ball, to make sure you’re comfortable throughout.
I’ll also show you techniques and exercises to work on at home.This will help you develop good posture, a supportive stance and will help you prepare for birth. Partner sessions can also be included, showing your birthing partner simple techniques to help in pregnancy and birth.
I only use non-scented, hypoallergenic massage oils and my room is lightly fragranced with organic incense.
